Norwell Public Library

$15M Value · 2021 · 22,300 sq. feet

Oudens-Ello Architecture designed the Norwell Public Library, and has since been awarded many honors for their design. This library has been recognized by the BSA Design Awards, won the WoodWorks Regional Excellence Award, and won an American Architecture Award in 2023. The building also received LEED Silver Certification from the THEM Green Building Council.

PA worked closely with the Town of Norwell to complete a feasibility study, and a grant application, with the Mass Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC). The town was granted a first round provisional grant by the MBLC. PA acted as the project liaison between all local agencies and provided both public and committee presentations for the project. The new library was constructed at the site of the old library, which required temporary relocation of library operations during demolition and construction.
