Stoughton Fire Station No. 1

Dore + Whittier Architecture designed this station, located on Prospect Street. The project broke ground in May 2023, and included the demolition of an abandoned structure on the lot. The station has five apparatus bays, and a separate mechanic’s bay designated to fix fire trucks, ambulances, and other Town vehicles. The station contains dedicated decontamination spaces to uphold firefighter safety, and living quarters for fourteen staff and first responders. The massive yard space and back balcony are added perks for the Town’s fire department!

This building was the first step in a town-wide fire station project - the Town’s firefighters moved into Station No. 1, this new ground-up facility, and now, their initial historic headquarters is being renovated to provide fire administration offices and a small historical wing, highlighting the fire departments roots and milestones!
