Sipson Island Rewilding

Led by the Sipson Island Trust, Pomroy Associates managed the rewilding efforts of Sipson Island, a 22-acre island off the coast of Orleans, MA. The Trust’s goal is to return the island to its natural state, as it was in 1711, and to achieve this, we had to demolish three old structures on the land and use a barge to carry all waste off the island, back to the mainland. With the dwellings knocked down and all debris removed, the island’s wildlife is starting to flourish again and Sipson Island Trust can continue to preserve its land.
